Do you know if your well water is safe?

A lot of what McKenzie Valley Pump (MVP) does involves diagnosing and treating water quality problems in Lane County. Though there is a lot of variation in well water quality, some of the most common problems are described below.
The two most common health and safety related water contaminants we see are coliform bacteria and arsenic. As a guideline, testing for arsenic should be done at least once, and testing for coliform bacteria should be repeated every 3-5 years. The Oregon Department of Human Services has a useful article about how to remove coliform from your well.
Other common problems we frequently encounter in this area are high levels of iron, corrosion bi-products of plumbing materials, and hardness in water. These are things that can cause deposits and staining in plumbing fixtures in the home.
We have excellent treatment solutions for these problems. If you have further questions about these or other contaminants, please don't hesitate to give us a call or email Ted at firstname.lastname@example.org
